Financial Institutions STOP MAKING ME TALK TO PEOPLE INDIA!!!

May I say I hate it when I have to call somewhere and speak to someone in another country!

Ok, don't get me wrong I think India is a fine place with very intelligent people but I want to speak with people in my own country. Is that so wrong? I think NOT!!!

Why? Why? Why?
Why, do I have to press #1 for ENGLISH.

Ok I am in the United States aren't I? And isn't our Official Language ENGLISH!!! Then why am I forced to speak with someone in another country who's accent is so thick I can't understand a word they say or the fact that they talk 90 miles an hour, which adds insult to injury...hmmm? Why? Why? Why?

What is wrong with giving jobs to the American people? hmmm

Did any executive with half a brain every think that if all the customer service jobs in America are outsourced, where would that leave millions of American workers? Who are we to work for? How will we pay for the services YOU offer? hmmmm

Did ya give that one any real thought or were ya just thinking about the money you'll save that makes the investors happy and the CEO that 90 million dollar bonus that we know he/she worked so hard for slaving away behind that desk.

Let's see how many people get pissed off when having to speak with someone in another country? Well me for one!!!

Oh by the way I work for one of those large financial institution...and I am so glad when the person on the line that has just called me says "Thank God I am speaking to an American who speaks English!" Then I here a big sigh of relief.

Yep that makes me proud as hell and then I say, "Yes Mama or yes Sir I am in Texas" and they say, "I bet your a Cowboys fan." Funny how people know where Texas is. Guess it's because were so big. Yep Don't Mess With Texas!!! lol :))

Well I had to call somewhere today and got mad as a hornet. I finally asked is it possible to speak with someone in the United States and they transferred the call. I was happy but it was so time consuming.

So I pulled up a list of Banks and started calling them and asking them if I open a checking, savings, loan or credit card with your company will I ever have to speak with someone in another country. Well out of the 6 I called which I stopped on several because I WOUND UP SPEAKING TO YOU GOT IT INDIA....GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR of course which I immediately hungup the phone on. So let's see BANK OF AMERICA said nope would always speak with someone in the US as did WELLS FARGO BANK....YEAHHHHH!!!

And by the way the bank with the fastest call time to a human being was WELLS FARGO.

Well I think I am calming down now...hehe.

Seems to me that Financial Institution would like to keep their customers happy but I guess not. They must have so many people trapped with fees and high balances they couldn't move to another Financial Institution if they wanted to. So I guess their not so dumb after all.

Let's see I speak to Jamaica when I call my Insurance company. :((
I speak to someone in Central America for my Electric company which by they way they sound American so I don't mind calling there...lol. :))
I speak to people in the Philippines for one Credit card and to India for 2 others...ughhh :((.

Thank God I do most of my stuff online and so I guess I am pretty lucky that I don't have conniption fit but once in a while when I do have to make a call.

Well I guess I have gotten that out of my system for awhile. By the way if your a customer service person, be proud of the fact that your Company has not outsourced your job and give the best to your customers. Trust me if your customers don't say they appreciate you out loud just know that they do!!!

OK now happy thoughts everyone...hehe.

If you know anything about politics and the lady speaking I think this will make you laugh a bit...lol

I LOVE PEOPLE WHO DO THOUGHTFUL DEEDS

People fascinate me. I love to come across people who without really realizing what they are doing...or perhaps they do, make a persons day a little bit brighter. They add joy and delight to the receiver of their thoughtful deed.

Something as simple, but time consuming on their part, as to post other peoples blogs on theirs. How marvelous it is. I can just imagine the person that just saw their blogger url listed on his page as they grin from ear to ear...lol. What a happy moment it's made for them.

There are to many bad things that happen in this world of ours and I choice to find the happy things and this was one of them. So my congrats to Mr. David for bringing simply joy and happiness to a lot of people.

Just some rambling thoughts now...lol.

It is my sincere wish that people should learn from one another, to trust, be honest, and help when asked and to think of someone else before thinking of ourselves. For please remember this if nothing else. What goes around comes around ten-fold. And don’t you feel good inside when you have helped someone in some way, however small or trivial the help may have seemed to you at the time, it may have been the greatest help a person could have ever received in their minds eye.

We reap and harvest from what we sow. Have you planted well this year? Because when it’s time to bring the in the crops will you have enough to eat? Just some food for thought. No pun intended of course.

Please learn to love, live and slow down once in a while, you never know what exciting person or thing you might miss in your life if you don’t. Take care and I like this writing of thoughts….hope it helped you in some small way to start planting the seeds of life that you will harvest when your time of need comes.

God Bless,
Dianne in Texas

May I State Again Cancer Suck!!!

This morning around 8 am my Uncle James went home to be with the Lord and the rest of our family. He was 58 years old and had been battling cancer for sometime and I just wanted to thank all those who read my posts and for those who offered up prayers for him. Thank you for taking the time to stop and say a few prayers, he went peacefully as far as I know. And the last time I saw him was at Christmas 06 and he had a pretty good day I think. And that's how I will remember him smiling and laughing, he was always full of life even when he didn't feel good he always had a chuckle or two to offer. He was a great husband and father and the best uncle a girl could ever ask for.

When I was going through my own battle with cancer he was a wealth of knowledge which helped me so much with my own fight against this DAMN STUPID DISEASE. AGAIN I HATE FREAKING CANCER.

He will be missed by so many people. I loved him dearly.

Thank you again for all those who prayed ....God does listen He is there.

THE TAX MAN COMETH!!!

Oh my it's February and April the 15th is fast approaching. Folks with great anticipation of Tax REFUNDS can hardly wait and then there's the folks wishing they could just crawl off in a deep whole somewhere. The IRS the 3 most dreaded letters in the alphabet when they are all put together for some folks.

I have done some reading and still haven't found that positive in your face law that says you have to pay an income tax. Well I guess if we Americans just keep paying it, the IRS will surely take it.

I found some thing one day that reads like this.

WHAT HAPPENED?

What Happened? At first I thought this was funny...then I realized the awful
truth of it.
Be sure to read all the way to the end!

Tax his land,
Tax his bed,
Tax the table
At which he's fed.

Tax his tractor,
Tax his mule,
Teach him taxes
Are the rule.

Tax his cow,
Tax his goat,
Tax his pants,
Tax his coat.

Tax his ties,
Tax his shirt,
Tax his work,
Tax his dirt.

Tax his tobacco,
Tax his drink,
Tax him if he
Tries to think.

Tax his cigars,
Tax his beers,
If he cries, then
Tax his tears.

Tax his car,
Tax his gas,
Find other ways
To tax his ass

Tax all he has
Then let him know
That you won't be done
Till he has no dough.

When he screams and hollers,
Then tax him some more,
Tax him till
He's good and sore.

Then tax his coffin,
Tax his grave,
Tax the sod in
Which he's laid.

Put these words
Upon his tomb,
"Taxes drove me
to my doom..."

When he's gone,
Do not relax,
Its time to apply
The inheritance tax.

Accounts Receivable Tax
Building Permit Tax
CDL license Tax
Cigarette Tax
Corporate Income Tax

Federal Income Tax
Federal Unemployment Tax (FUTA)

COMMENTS: Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago,
and our nation was the most prosperous in the world.
We had absolutely no national debt, had the largest middle class
in the world, and Mom stayed home to raise the kids.
What happened?
And I still have to "press 1" for English
I hope this goes around the world 10 times

Oh and for all of you waiting for that refund click on the Title ...lol.

I truly hope your one of the lucky ones waiting on your refund or one of the smart ones who have figured out how make just the right income not to pay a cent in income taxes.

Things to remember if your trying to save money:
  1. 401K, use it especially if your employer offers matching funds. You are not taxed on savings for your retirement on your 401K until after retirement, by then you will probably be in a lower tax bracket.
  2. Start an IRA especially if you don't have access to a 401k through you job.
  3. Settlements of debts. If you try and negociate a settlement on a debt you have and if you settle with a difference of over $600.00 you will receive a 1009c form for you taxes because you will have to claim this difference as income. Example if you have for instance a debt of say $2200.00 and settle for $1100.00 that's a 50% settlement, that leaves you with $1100.00 that you will have to claim as earned income. Just remember that this could possibly send you into a higher tax bracket and you might wind up owing more in taxes.
  4. Let an expert help you with your taxes to make sure you get all the credits allowed when doing your Income Taxes. It's your money don't just give it away. It's fine if you know what your doing and know all the tax laws, but if not get help.
  5. If you use a tax prepartion company great but opt to mail it in or e-file it and don't give your hard earned money away in order to get that refund back sooner. You have waited this long wait a bit longer and get all the money you deserve.
  6. For those of you living pay check to pay check why not put some of that refund into an emergency saving fund. With the job market the way it is you never know you maybe the next to have a job lay off.
  7. Why not pay off some of those high interest credit cards off or at least lower the balances which can also help raise your FICO score.
  8. Pay close attention to that W-4 form. You may be having to much tax taken out or pehaps not enough. You can speak to your HR person for help with this. I personally change mine several times a year. I try to figure out how to keep my money throughout the year so I don't get a big refund. Reason... I don't want UNCLE SAM earning interest off my money.
You should always seek advice from an attorney, an accountant or a tax expert. I’m only sharing what I know, or at least what I think I know.

Money is something everyone should take control of. You work to hard to just let a few bucks here and there slip away. Those bucks add up just like pennies if you save them.

Well I got my refund today and the first thing I did was pay off those credit cards and boy did that fell good. I will also be giving some to a charity. The rest went into my savings. A nice little place to save is at EmigrantDirect.com, a division of Emigrant Bank, Member FDIC...and as of today the rate is at a nice 5.05% annual percentage yield.

Make the best of what you have and if you have been blessed with a refund don't forget to give some of it to the charity of your choice. Reason...because you reap what you sow and what goes around comes around...and yes this holds true for money too not just revenage...lol.

Americans Terrorizing Americas Homeless

Homeless Americans never expected to be treated this way and I just couldn't believe it myself when I watched this video. We spend billions of dollars on war in other countries, but what do we do for our own people. Is this not terrorizing American citizens by bringing in a large force of police to rip apart peoples homes no matter the fact that it's a tent it is their home.

How on earth can another human being destroy the only place someone has to call home. How could you look at yourself in the mirror and not wonder what your family must think of you, not to mention how would you explain to your children what you have done. How would you feel having the only shelter you own ripped to shreds in front of your very eyes and all you can do is stand there and watch in total horror and disbelief. I suspect money is behind this issue somewhere. The almighty Dollar, greed and power.

When do we learn to respect one another? Ever? I wonder.

Oh and did I also mention they used BOX CUTTERS....SCARY ISN'T IT. Just amazing what some people will do for their job. Me personally, I think that would be the day I had to quit my job. Seems like the city of St. Petersburg, FL. should have found another place for its homeless or another way of doing what they thought they had to do. Ever read the book "What would Jesus Do" well I am quite sure that ripping to shreds someones shelter/home is definitely not one of those things. Just watch the video below.

May God watch over these people and forgive those who destoryed their homes.

Cancer & St. Jude Children's Research Hospital

Tonight as I watched TV which I rarely do these days, I saw a program about St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. For those of you who may not know St. Jude is unlike any other pediatric treatment and research facility anywhere. Discoveries made there have completely changed how the world treats children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases.

Being someone who has just gone through Cancer myself and then watching the children at St. Jude, I am amazed at their courage, drive and determination to beat Cancer. It's hard enough being an adult with cancer and doing all the tests, MRI's, Pet Scans, CT Scans, blood tests and having a Mediport implanted that I can't even imagine the fear a child and his parents must go through facing the same things I had to endure and then Chemo on top if it all.

If God has blessed you with a healthy child won't you please consider donating to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Or perhaps you have a family member who's child has cancer and your wondering how in the world can you help. Well then I think this is an excellent opportunity for you to donate. There are various ways to donate just go to their site http://www.stjude.org/donate and find out how you can help a child in need of hope and your support.

After the show I came and got online to go to their website and noticed under Donations that they are partnered with a large group of Companies across the country that do Matching gifts with their employees. They have a list of companies that do matching gifts won't you please check to see if your company is listed. All you have to do is contact your Human Resource Department to see whether a matching gifts program is offered. If offered, please obtain a form from your company to complete and send to St. Jude for verification of your donation so that your company will match your gift. Some companies double, even triple, their employee's gifts to St. Jude!

If you have healthy children then give thanks and donate today.

Thank you for you time in reading this post and if you make a donation know that you have done an awesome thing.

Blessed are they who give without expecting even thanks in return, for they shall be abundantly rewarded.

**All comments in italics are from the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital's website.

VALENTINE'S DAY IS COMING SOON

VALENTINE'S DAY
FEBRUARY 14TH

Well this year is zipping right along and soon it will be Valentine's Day. This is a great day for everyone, young and old a like. It's the day the we profess our love to that person that means so much to us.

Children giving little Valentine cards at school to friends and Teachers. Moms and Dads giving cards and sweets to their children as they in turn give their parents those ever memorable handmade cards they have proudly made at school and lovers who give those wonderful gifts to their one true love.

However, their are those of us who at the moment may not have a one true love or have recently lost their true love and will be feeling a bit out of place. So just remember how lucky you are on February 14th when the delivery man walks into your building at work carrying a big bouquet of flowers and balloons and is looking for you because some of us won't be so lucky.

Why not take the time to go to a Dollar store or card shop and pick up some little Valentines cards for co-workers. You might just brighten someones otherwise dreary day. Jot down a sweet little note just for them. I am quite sure you'll reap many benefits from this simple little act of kindness.

A little tip, if your cheap or short on money and have a printer make a homemade card and print up some yourself to hand out. Here are a few sample pictures I did myself and please feel free to use them if you like. Just right click on the pictures at the top of the post and save them to your computer. Print them up then cut them out so you can fold over the top and then write a little note inside. Make someones day as special as yours.

We all need to feel we are loved and appreciated wouldn't you agree? I know I do.

You can give flowers, candy, jewelry, cards or a nice evening out which are all great things but, I think what makes these things even more special is the way they are presented to the one you love. Be creative and don't just go say, "here ya go" and leave it at that. This is a special day so be creative and make a memory that your love will treasure for a life time.

If you need some help just go to Google and do a search for Creative Valentine gifts or ideas.

American Association for Cancer Research

If you have Cancer or know someone who has Cancer won't you take a moment to visit this site. The information here is excellent. Just click above.

I am in remission from Lymphoma cancer myself and I can tell you from experience when I was told I had Cancer I thought so I have cancer now what, am I going to die or what. The first thing I did was go online and started to read about the particular kind of Cancer I had. I got the heck scared out of me and stopped reading I cried for about an hour and then I called my Mom. Thank you God for my MOM!!!

I didn't let her know I had been crying and I was just calling to have a little chat. She is a very encouraging and optimistic person.

Oh did I forget to mention the surgeon that did the biopsy and let me know it was Cancer told me in his office that day ..."now don't go home and get on the Internet and scare yourself until you talk to your Oncologist (cancer doctor) this type of cancer is curable but has a tendency to come back now and again."

Well I didn't listen as you can tell...lol.

I can tell you this though, when you go for that first visit to your Oncologist take your immediate family. I know this may sound strange and I felt like we were invading his office but that's the best thing I could have ever done. I took my Mom, Dad and youngest daughter with me the oldest had to work. The Doctor was awesome about the whole thing he thought it was fantastic and answered everyones questions. For you see when your a little bit in shock it's nice to have others with you who can ask the questions you might not be thinking of and boy did they ask questions. It actually made me feel more at ease with them either to support me.

My advice is to ask when you make that first appointment if you can bring family with you. I can't imagine any Doctor saying no.

Tips:
  1. Have the best attitude you can muster.
  2. Laugh as much as possible so you don't cry...lol.
  3. Seek the support of your family and friends. Trust me they care.
  4. More than likely your going to lose your hair from Chemo so just get over it. It does grow back at least mine has. I know ladies this was a hard for me.
  5. Go early and check out wigs or hair pieces so your ready when it starts falling out.
  6. Did I mention attitude. Have the attitude your going to kick some Cancer butt and keep that in your mind at all times.
  7. Laugh again I can't mention this enough.
  8. Be sure and keep your family Doctor in the loop let them know how your doing.
  9. ASK QUESTIONS ALL THE TIME IT'S YOUR BODY AND YOUR LIFE AT STAKE HERE.
  10. Never be afraid to ask for a second opinion if your not comfortable with treatment thats being discussed. There are alternative treaments but there is one thats right for you.
  11. Depending on your Stage of Cancer I was lucky and found mine at Stage 1, find someone who has gone through the same type of cancer you have and talk to them they will be your wealth of information and resources.

I was in the hospital on my 4th cancer treatment and my mom's cousin was there also she had stage 4 cancer all over her body and she had made peace with God and her family and decided to go home to be with the Lord, she just knew her fight was over. Sometimes I think we just know instinctively when to fight and when God is calling us home. She let her family know she was ready to go home and they were happy for her and knew her pain would soon end. Joann we miss you sweetie and I know she gave my grandmother a big hug for me I am sure. (smiles)

Now a days, I live day to day and live life to the fullest as best I can and let my family know everyday or everytime I see them that I love them. One never knows what tomorrow will bring.

Again check out the site above or google Cancer there is a wealth of information and resources to be found on the Internet.

God bless us all each and everyone. We are unique individuals with much to offer those who pass our way on this journey through life.

In Remission from Diffuse Large BCell Lymphoma

On Oct. 19, 2006 I was finally told I was in remission. That's great I will go to see the Doc every 3 months and have a pet scan ever 6 months to make sure it's not coming back. Sad thing is this type of Cancer likes to make a reappearance. But I have made my mind up it won't be back.

For anyone with Cancer it is your attitude that can make or break you along with the Stage your in. Me I was lucky I found it early and was in Stage 1 of an aggressive lymphoma cancer and decided I was going to kick it's butt before it kicked mine...lol. And I did!

I know I was very lucky with finding it early and the fact God was on my side with a LOT of people praying for me literally. I was in the womens restroom one day at work when I first knew I had it and was telling my old boss about it when another woman walked up and said " I am sorry I overheard your conversation and wondered if we might say a prayer right now," she was a ministers wife and what was I going to say NO I think not.

You got that right we all joined hands and bowed our heads as she called upon the name of the Lord to watch over me and heal my body from Cancer. I can't tell you how loved I felt at that moment as these women clasped my hands tight and began to pray. I can only hope and pray myself that if you find yourself in the same situation that you have such good friends around you that will stop literally and pray for you even in a womens bathroom.

Thank you God for your listening ear. This girl believes in the POWER OF PRAYER!!!

P.S.
I will also tell you this. I do not fear dying for it means I will be going home and there are a lot of people I can't wait to see again. The only thing I really fear about death is the pain that may come with it and the fact I may miss seeing my children until they come home too.
